Good morning, Justin and neighbors!
It’s Monday, which means we’re back with another round of what’s happening around town. The temperatures are finally giving us a little break from summer, so if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to get outside, this might be your week. (Your air conditioner could probably use the vacation, too.)
We’ve got local events, community news, things to do, and a little hometown history to catch up on. So grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s see what’s happening around Justin and the surrounding area this week.
THE DIGEST
Did You Catch the Clue?
Something exciting is taking shape in Old Town Justin, and the Justin Economic Development Corporation gave us a little hint this week—but they’re not spilling the details just yet.
A new project is coming full circle, and we’re told it could be a great addition to Old Town.
So… did you catch the clue? Any guesses?
The big reveal is coming Thursday, October 8. We’ll be watching right along with you!
Do Some Good, Justin!
The Community Clothes Closet is introducing a new Christmas program, and they need our help! Because every child deserves to feel loved, cared for and cozy, they’re collecting donations so every child who shops at the CCC can receive a brand-new pair of pajamas and a book for Christmas.
Want to help? Drop off a new pair of children’s pajamas anytime at 117 W. 6th Street in Justin. A small donation can help make Christmas a little warmer and brighter for a local child.

DOCTORS CORNER
Healthy Feet: Mission 4 — Ankle Injuries, X-Rays & More Care Close to Home
By Dr. William Stephens, DPM (Northwest High school graduate) Arise Foot and Ankle – Justin, Texas
A rolled ankle can happen anywhere—a football field, a backyard, or simply stepping off a curb the wrong way. While many ankle sprains improve with rest and support, persistent swelling, bruising, difficulty walking, or significant pain may deserve a closer look.
Sometimes an X-ray is the appropriate first step. It can help identify fractures and other bone problems that may not be obvious from the outside. Patients occasionally ask why we don't simply order an MRI first. Besides X-rays often being the appropriate initial study, many insurance plans require X-rays before they will authorize more advanced imaging such as an MRI.
We're also excited to share some news about our office! Arise Foot and Ankle is welcoming two independent healthcare practices under our roof: Traynham Medical and Kris Cross Health.
Traynham Medical brings a primary care physician who has served our community for approximately 22 years, while Kris Cross Health provides health coaching services. Together, our goal is simple: improve access to local care and help our neighbors spend less time driving to distant medical offices.
Primary care, health coaching, and foot and ankle care—all conveniently located under one roof, right here in Justin.

HISTORY

Justin Day
Justin Day: The Day We Became Justin
We’ve been spending some time digging into the history of how Justin became Justin, and last week we shared the different options the City Council considered for officially recognizing the day. The council ultimately chose October 4 as Justin Day.
Yesterday, October 4, marked 139 years since our community was officially known as Justin. The City celebrated with a video on Facebook, and we put together a deeper dive into the story behind the name — including how we got here and why October 4 holds a special place in Justin’s history.
We’re excited to see what Justin Day becomes in the years ahead. Hopefully, next year the city and local businesses can build on the celebration and give our community even more ways to celebrate our history and hometown pride.
And, of course, we had our Justin Day swag available again this year — because what better way to celebrate than by wearing your hometown pride?

Have a great week Justin and Neighbors!
Before you rush into the day, take a minute this morning to slow down. Think of three things in your life that you’re grateful for. Not just the quick “I’m thankful for my family” kind of answer, but really sit with each one for a moment. Think about the people, moments, places, or little things that bring goodness into your life.
It’s easy to focus on what’s going wrong or what we still need to figure out. But sometimes, taking a few quiet minutes to notice what’s already good can shift your whole perspective.
So, before you get moving today, take a breath, think of three blessings, and let yourself enjoy them for a moment. You might be surprised how much happiness you already have around you. ❤️
