LOCAL BUSINESS

Crestview Development Approved: What It Means for Justin’s Growth

The City of Justin has approved a major zoning change paving the way for Crestview, a 1,244-acre master-planned community by Bloomfield Homes, located north and northwest of FM 407 and Treeline Parkway.

The property has been rezoned to a Planned Development (PD), allowing for a mix of:

  • Single-family homes (starting at 4,400 sq ft lots)

  • Commercial and retail space

  • Mixed-use areas, parks, and open space

Why it matters for Justin:
This type of large-scale development is designed to bring long-term economic impact to the city. As Crestview builds out over time, it is expected to:

  • Expand the local tax base through new property values

  • Generate sales tax revenue from future retail and commercial development

  • Help fund city services, infrastructure, and public safety

  • Support continued growth while following Justin’s Comprehensive Plan

Infrastructure like roads, water, and sewer will be developed alongside the project, with portions funded through developer-backed mechanisms such as PID financing—helping reduce upfront strain on existing city resources.

The ordinance received initial approval on March 26, with final approval expected April 9. Development will occur in phases, meaning growth will be gradual but significant over the coming years.

Bottom line: Crestview represents one of the largest upcoming developments in Justin—bringing new homes, new businesses, and new revenue streams that will play a key role in shaping the city’s future.
