Good Morning, Justin and Neighbors!

Wow, what a weekend! From fireworks and parades to backyard barbecues and time spent with family and friends, we hope you had a chance to enjoy the festivities and celebrate America's 250th birthday.

Now it's time to kick off a new week, and there's plenty to look forward to. The FIFA excitement continues with another round of matches, summer is in full swing with plenty of sunshine, and for once, North Texas is giving us a break by keeping temperatures just under the triple-digit mark for most of the week.

THE DIGEST

A Small-Town Celebration Done Right at Treeline Community

One of my favorite parts of the holiday was seeing Treeline Community open its neighborhood to everyone for a truly community-focused celebration. There were a few great food trucks, live music, light-up swings for the kids (and adults!), and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the evening. Even better, the entire event was funded by Treeline, including the well-organized traffic control provided by the Justin Police Department.

The best news? They're already talking about making it even bigger next year.

I'll admit, though, I kind of loved that it wasn't a huge, packed festival. Parking wasn't a headache, you didn't spend half the night standing in lines, and everywhere you turned there was another familiar face to stop and chat with. Sometimes those smaller community events end up being the ones you remember the most.

Afterward, we made our way over to Roanoke for their fireworks show, and wow...they absolutely delivered. The grand finale was one of the biggest I've seen in a long time! If you missed it (or just want to relive it), head over to the Justin Journal social media pages and check out the video we posted of the finale.

Back-to-School Shopping Has Officially Begun

It may feel like summer just started, but the back-to-school aisles are already filling up. Whether you're counting down the days until the kids head back to class or pretending summer is nowhere near halfway over, it's time to start thinking about school supplies.

We already spotted the trendy LoveShackFancy collection at Target. If you know, you know... and if you don't, your wallet is probably happier for it.

Need your child's supply list? We've got you covered:

Happy shopping... and may the last pack of Ticonderoga pencils be ever in your favor.

THE MAYOR’S CORNER

A Page from the Mayor's Journal – July 3, 2026

Dear Neighbors and Friends of Justin,

Last night’s fireworks lit up our skies and our hearts. Gathering with family and friends for a local celebration of America’s 250th birthday was the perfect reminder of what makes our country, and our town; extraordinary. We cheered the bursts of color, shared stories, and took quiet moments to honor the brave Americans who fought and fell to secure the liberties we hold dear. As a veteran, I felt that gratitude especially deeply.

In the glow of those fireworks, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far we’ve come and where we’re headed. As we begin collecting items for our community time capsule, I am committed to paying respect and homage to Justin’s yesteryears while preparing us for tomorrow. Our history is rich, our present is full of life, and our future is bright if we steward it well.

Summer in Justin has a special magic. Kids are out of school and filling our parks with laughter and energy. Neighbors are spending more time outdoors, waving from porches, and reconnecting in ways that only a small town allows. This everyday moment, the ball games in empty lots, the backyard barbecues, the shared fireworks, are the threads that weave our community together.

This Independence Day weekend, let’s carry that spirit forward. Fly your American Flags HIGH. Take pride in our shared heritage, look out for one another, and show our newest residents what makes Justin feel like home.

As you celebrate in the days ahead, keep one another safe.

As your mayor, I remain focused on guiding our growth with care, maintaining transparency at City Hall, and creating opportunities for all of us to build a stronger, more connected Justin. The next 250 years start right here, right now, in towns like ours that still believe in hard work, neighborly kindness, and American possibility.

To our veterans, first responders, and every family who call Justin home, thank you. Have a safe, joyful, and patriotic Fourth of July.

Sincerely, Mayor James Clark

Built from the ground up, the complex features premium courts with professional BWF-certified badminton flooring, quality pickleball courts, expert coaching, and unlimited open play in a comfortable, weather-proof environment.

For owner Sandeep, opening Justin Sports was the realization of a longtime dream fueled by a passion for racquet sports and a desire to invest in the community he now calls home.

After living in Justin's Trails of Elizabeth Creek for the past five years, he recognized the growing need for quality indoor courts where families and players of all ages could enjoy the sports year-round.

"I wanted to create more than just a gym," Sandeep said. "I wanted to build a place where people could connect, stay active, and enjoy being part of the community."

In addition to open play, Justin Sports offers coaching for all skill levels, with expanded clinics, leagues, tournaments, and beginner programs planned for the future.

Coming Next Week: Meet Dr. Syed

Speaking of healthcare options, just down the same business strip, Dr. Syed is putting the finishing touches on her new practice. A few technical delays with the EMR system have pushed the opening back slightly, but she’s taking the time to make sure everything is fully ready before seeing patients.

We recently had the chance to meet with Dr. Syed and her family, and her passion for serving the community really stands out. Her goal of offering a convenient, one-stop approach to care is exactly the kind of addition we love seeing in Justin.

She’s hoping to begin seeing patients around July 15, and we’ll share more about her and her practice in next week’s newsletter—stay tuned!
