Good Morning, Justin!
The elves on the shelves are out here committing tiny holiday crimes, Tulane slammed the brakes on UNT after that fiery first drive, and December 6th delivered more holiday fun than anyone could possibly fit into one weekend.
And if you actually went out in that cold⌠congratulations, youâre officially tougher than most of the Hill family, who have a strict no-freezing policy. âď¸đ

Holiday Season Reminder: Keep Yourself & Your Belongings Safe
The holiday rush means more shopping, traveling, and activityâand unfortunately, more opportunity for theft. Crime moves across all communities, and even the safest areas see occasional break-ins. Justin isnât being targeted; this is simply a seasonal trend everywhere.
A reminder from the Justin Police Chief:
Always lock your car, even at home.
Remove valuables when you can.
Keep anything left behind out of sightâespecially firearms, tools, electronics, and cash.
A few extra holiday safety tips:
Park in well-lit areas.
Keep shopping bags in the trunk or covered.
Close garage doors fully.
Track packages or use secure delivery options.
Avoid posting travel plans publicly.
Look out for neighbors when theyâre away.
A little awareness goes a long way toward keeping the season merry and your property safe.
Did you know?
The Justin Police Department offers free home checks for residents gone 3â14 daysâperfect for holiday travel and extra peace of mind.
Old Town Committee Meets to Shape Future Guidelines
The Justin Old Town Committee met this week at Justin Coffee to continue discussions on future development guidelines for new homes in Old Town once the plan is officially implemented. Topics included everything from the minimum land required per homeâan important factor in determining how many houses can be built on a single plotâto facade style recommendations, setback requirements, and other key design elements that keep Old Townâs character intact.
A huge thank-you to Justin Coffee for providing a warm space to meet (and delicious treats to keep everyone going!).
More updates will be shared as the planning process continues.

LOCAL BUSINESS
Urban Value Corner Store Opens in Wildflower Ranch
A new convenience option has officially opened its doors in Justin! Urban Value Corner Store is now serving residents at: 16380 Goldflame Dr, Justin, TX.
This location is especially notable because it sits inside Wildflower Ranch, one of the largest and fastest-growing master-planned communities in the area. While the address lists Justin, this spot is not technically inside Justin city limitsâmeaning its tax dollars will not go to Justin.
Wildflower Ranch is planned for 3,200â3,300 single-family homes at full build-out and already includes major amenities: a lazy river, walking trails, playgrounds, sports fields, a dog park, and a community clubhouse. Homes are steadily being built and sold by multiple builders as new families move in each month.
Located near Highway 114 and I-35, the neighborhood serves Justin, North Fort Worth, and Northlake, and is zoned to Northwest ISD, with a future on-site elementary school planned.
The new Urban Value store brings a convenient selection of everyday essentials right into the heart of this rapidly growing communityâa welcome addition to the neighborhoodâs expanding amenities.

LOCAL HISTORY
A Store, A Family, A First Council Seat: B.L. Adamsâ Story
As we continue our series on Justinâs very first City Council, weâre taking a closer look at the people who helped shape the community we know today. This week, weâre highlighting the council member who received the 5th most votesâa man whose family name and business legacy still echo through Justin: B.L. âBertâ Adams.
In the original story, Mr. Adams was listed simply as a store owner, but thereâs much more to his storyâthe store he opened is still operating today. Bert was also part of a family of first-timers weâve already discussed: his son, Leo Adams, also served.
Bert was born in 1883 and passed away in 1954, after spending 25 years in Justin. He and his wife, Lula, had five children: Irma, Bernice, Alfred, Laura, and Bert Richey.
After moving to Justin in 1929, Bert opened a grocery and dry goods store, along with the Adams Cash Store. In 1938, he expanded into selling furniture and renamed the grocery business to Adams Furniture and Appliance Store. Though the store is no longer owned by the Adams family, the name has carried on for generations.
Outside his business, Bert was active in the Methodist Church, serving as a trustee and as a member of the Board of Stewards. He passed away in 1954 and is buried in the Justin Cemetery.
